Green Book: on the roads of the South

    Synopsis and details
In 1962, while segregated, Tony Lip, an Italian-American bouncer from the Bronx, was hired to drive and protect Dr.Don Shirley, a world-renowned black pianist, on a concert tour. During their journey from Manhattan to the deep South, they rely on the Green Book to find places where people of colour are welcomed, where Shirley will not be refused service and where he will not be humiliated or mistreated.

In a country where the civil rights movement is beginning to make itself heard, the two men will be confronted with the worst of the human soul, from which they are healed thanks to their generosity and humour. Together, they will have to overcome their prejudices, forget what they considered to be insurmountable differences, to discover their common humanity.
