DISCOVER THE NATURE OF LES CONTAMINES-MONTJOIE

The Contamines-Montjoie's Nature Reserve founded in 1979 and stretching over 5500 hectares opens it doors to make you discover this fragile area, rich in flora and fauna. The Reserve insures its protection and value. The role of the guide is to help you understand nature, share knowledge concerning nature and let you appreciate its wonders. Adapted for children and grown-ups all in educational contexts, such as schools vacation centres.

The Nature Reserve Centre plans to exploit this protected territory through various activities:
• Nature workshops, indoor and outdoor activities,
• Naturalist slideshows.

THE NATURE RESERVE CENTRE of Les Contamines-Montjoie located in the village centre beside La Poste offers: an exhibition of naturalised animals and a temporary exhibition, a library where you can search for the name of a flower or animal that you have seen during your expeditions. It also has a naturalist and ecologic shop, books for children, post cards, CD's, DVD's, a multimedia area to enhance your knowledge about fauna and flora, a painting workshop for children (on T-shirts or wooden animal profiles). The Nature Reserve Centre is a resource centre which contains all the information that you may need and offers the services of a guide, to make your holiday an experience rich in new information.
The Nature Reserve House is opened from Monday to Friday, from 10.30 am to noon and 3 to 6.30 pm. Attendance access is not possible while workshop.
